Shipping Policy
Sunny Exotic Leather, is a trusted, quality exotic skin leather supplier/tannery w/ over 20 years of experience, specializing in exotic leather such as python, alligator and crocodile leather. Our tannery is Based in Malaysia, whilst we have offices & warehouses in the USA, China, & Malaysia all containing their own respective stock. Products will be shipped to the delivery address specified from either one of these three locations via our partner networks, logistic companies, & other shipping entities whom we've established trusted relationships with in order to provide you w/ the safest, quickest, & most secure turnaround times.
Our online store was opened to service artisans, Bespoke makers, workshops, luxury leather makers, leather crafters, and handmakers that need to purchase small quantities of skins with no minimum order, no lead time, and tannery direct pricing for retail purposes, and for accessories and custom projects such as handbags, bags, wallets, or watchstraps/belts etc. For wholesale inquiries, we primarily ship direct from our Malaysian-Based Tannery/Factory - you may contact us for more clarification on such services.
Worldwide Shipping
General worldwide delivery/turnaround time for ready-stocked goods are 3-5 Business Days on average - TRACKING NUMBERS will be provided without fail. For custom queries & requests, an expected rule of thumb is 2-4 weeks (Business days).
We offer worldwide shipping services on our 100% genuine high-quality exotic leather; full skins/hides only with tags attached, from both our USA & Malaysian locations, depending on ready stock/inventory at each site, via secure partnered Freight couriers such as DHL or FeDex. For all custom-tanned & finished materials, they will be shipped from our Malaysian tannery directly to you.
We do not ship scrap, backstraps, etc.
ALL cross border shipments worldwide for exotic leather be it lizard, python or crocodile (as well as most exotic leather and finished products like handbags which we also stock on timely seasonal basis) are governed under an international treaty called CITES. Generally, this is applied when orders are of high quantity or wholesale amounts. For orders under 10 pieces of skin/hides, custom requests w/ tags that are already applied for & attached to individual articles can be executed in an effort to reduce shipping & processing time for both parties - if & only if the Buyer chooses this route, for their own personal time-related reasons, as CITES takes 1-4 weeks for proper documentation to be released from time of application.
When shipped without applied-for CITEs documentation, usually for retail quantity orders not exceeding 5 pieces, the Buyer bears Full responsibility if logistical issues occur at customs checkpoints w/ internationally delivered orders straight From our Malaysian tannery (Both parties will have to mutually agree on this position). This will generally only be considered on very special exceptional cases when speed is of the essence.
To reinforce & reiterate this point, orders within the quantity of 5 skins no matter species or size are usually accepted by customs so CITES requirements will be on a case-by-case basis depending on Buyer/Seller logistics and discussions - usually when the Buyer requires for a faster turnaround time for personal use.
We use USPS or UPS when shipping domestically from our USA-based California office, whereas all other orders will ship from our international warehouse/tannery, so shipping times will vary between time of processing and actual order fulfillment/shipment - rest assured utmost efficiency will be taken to ensure timely delivery, and tracking will be given if available. Again, time of estimated delivery will be within 3-5 Business Days.
While we will do all we can to ensure prompt and satisfactory delivery we cannot be held responsible for delays experienced by the carrier. Following are the delivery services and expected delivery times in some of the countries we ship to regardless of origin dispatch. Please ultimately allow up to 1 week for all in-stock articles to be received by you from the time when the exotic leather hides are shipped.
Signatures
Should your package require a signature it will only be delivered if there is someone to receive it in person. If there is nobody available, it will be returned to the post office for collection. This applies to packages that do not require a signature unless you have specified a safe place to leave the package with your postal service. If you know you are unlikely to be on hand to sign for a package, we recommend you use an address where there will be someone present such as your work or the address of a friend or neighbour.
We will send you a confirmation email once your order has been processed, and a further communication once it has been despatched. Please allow up to 21 days – at most – for deliveries to all addresses. Should your item not arrive in that time please contact us and we will do what we can to trace the package and rectify the situation to your satisfaction.
INTERNATIONAL TAXES AND DUTIES / CUSTOMS AND CITES
Customers from outside the USA will be responsible for inbound duty fees, tax, or any other fee that the local customs authority applies. These fees will be paid to the local carrier and not to Sunny Exotica. It should be noted, therefore, that we cannot be involved in any dispute or query regarding such fees. This is solely between the customer and the shipping provider. Note that all Sunny Exotica orders for international customers are shipped duties and tax unpaid – or DDU – so we recommend that you ask your local postage provider for details of the charges you may be expected to pay.
Note that some international couriers will pay any duty and tax on the behalf of the customer as the package enters the country. This is to enable delivery in good time. The courier will need full payment of the taxes they have paid from you before the item is released and there may be a small administration fee for this service.
Given the nature of the products exchanged, CITES issues may arise with customs; in such instances this will be dealt with in a timely manner to ensure that all deliveries comply with international laws regarding the sale of exotic leather handbags, goods and products.

WRONG ADDRESS DISCLAIMER
We ask that customer take the greatest care when providing delivery addresses. Given the nature of the products handled, we do not accept address changes after checkout so please be aware of this.
It is possible that orders sent to erroneous addresses are returned to us; in this instance we are able to amend the address and resend to the correct destination. We will update you on when re-shipment occurs.
